MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY:

The Master's Degree in Christian Counseling prepares students for advanced professional competence in a Christian community.

PRE-REQUISITE:

Students wanting to enter Master's Degree in Christian Counseling program must have completed Bachelor Degree in Ministry Honours.

REQUIREMENT TO COMPLETE:

A thesis (18 credits)

DOCTORAL DEGREE OPPORTUNITY:

Upon completion, the Master's Degree in Christian Counseling students will be able to enter the Doctor of Ministry Degree.

ACADEMIC YEAR: Preaching Insight Christian University does not have a prescribed academic year. Students may start their studies at any time of the year.

Objectives

Upon successful completion of the Master's Degree in Christian Counseling, the students should be able to:

demonstrate competence in communicating the Word effectively in a variety of settings
exercise skill in managing conflict
identify best practices for individual and corporate spiritual growth and formation
develop leadership skills that serve the ministry needs of the local church in the twenty-first century
communicate God's truth clearly, accurately, and convincingly
develop advanced skills in Biblical Studies, Theology and Christian ministries in preparation for significant senior leadership in the ministry
identify best practices for individual and corporate spiritual growth and formation
provide the educational foundation for further study in Christian counseling

help people realise personhood wholeness in every area of human life--spirit, mind, and body
formulate an integrative counseling approach, incorporating proven counseling techniques with a sound Biblical and theological understanding of the ministry of counseling
acquire a Biblical worldview by studying God's revelation in counseling
acquire an understanding of the various types of counseling towards the goal of Biblical interpretation within the framework of Christian principles and practice
provide Biblical guidance, sustenance, healing, and reconciliation to individuals, couples and families in either church or para-church settings
provide specialised training to augment persons already in ministry or to equip lay leaders

articulate the church's Biblical mandate to care for persons
